I have been struggling for days with the portraiture element of this, and I’m still not completely happy, although I know it would be sensible to leave it here.  I feel like the face is too light in value to really convey what I’m after, but I like the use of tones and values in themselves, and the way the reductive method has worked out this time. (Reductive in the sense that I remove paint, not in the sense of oversimplified.)
